Looking for some input on a youth racing quad...
Top brands?
Size will be 50cc to 90cc
My approx. budjet is 5000$

Is there any build yourself kits for these quads aswell?

Thanks in advance.

good luck in your search. you might want to think about what size you want. that will make a big diffrence in the search.

I don't have one but Apex makes a good one, can-am is good with some mods done to it, polaris outlaw 90 mxr. It really depends on what you want to do with it. If you really want to go big get a JB chassis and through in a 90 dirt bike motor, there is really no end to what you can do. Decide if you are going to race it and if so what type and class you would want to run, then we can throw better idea's at you

This will be a racing ATV for son...

He will be starting in april of next year. He is 4years old ........

Now before most say a 90cc is to big for a 4 year old....... He is already on a 70cc and been riding since last summer. He is far far ahead of the average 4 year old. Saftey is always my main concern of course.

Took him down lastnight to sit on a Can-Am 90............ He is about 1" short on each side from touching the pegs.

Reason i ask for both sizes is i dont wana blow my money on 50cc and have him move upto a 90 the next year...........but
Tommorow we are heading to races to see what they will allow him to race....... he may not be able to race on a 90cc yet.

Local dealer that sponsor's the event is 90% sure he can race upto a 125cc since the class has this limit.........and age limit of 4-8 years of age.
Local dealer has suggested me to try to find a LT-80 as there a very fast bike with a smaller chassis.

DRR or Apex.
I'd be looking at a 50cc DRR for a 4 yr old.

What 70cc machine do you have now?

A 4 year old on a 125!!!!!! thats just plain stupid. just becouse the dealer says thay can doesent mean that thay can. they must have a great release waver to get them out of all law suits. Id go for a dirt bike. maybe a rm125. atleast he can grow into it!!!!

stick with a 50cc let him master it and go from there. just becouse he can ride in the back yard doesent mean he can race on a track with 10 or more other kids from the ages of 4 to 8. thats a big year span. the 8 year olds will be running him over. you say your limit is 5000.00. for that kind of money you can get onehell of a 50 and a 80. hope this helps maybe not what you want to hear but just looking out for your son. there was a guy around here 1 year ago that had the same idea. his 5 year old could touch the foot pegs of a quad. i dont know the size. so he thought he could ride it. well my friend is a fire fighter and he was the first on the call. lets just say he is going to live but not be to happy for a while. and yes he had a helmet on. but just to much quad for him.
