Looking to buy 250cc or 300cc Chinese quad-any better than another?
I have been looking for a quad for myself and I guess a 250/300 offroad style. I bought my kids a Kazuma/Merkat 50cc a few years ago and other than a dead battery it is great for $500.
Has there been a certain brand one that appears to be more reliable or better in the 250/300cc class? It seems they range all over in price from $1250 shipped to $3000 shipped depending on which one a dealer carries. I was looking at the one listed on www.motocrox.com due to the price point, but really want input prior to buying any of these for myself. Anyone have a suggestion? I tried google search and didn't find much at all. I am also in the market for a 50cc minibike for my son.

Welcome to the forum rinaldi!
If your good with a wrench you can get a good deal. If your not you can get a huge headache. Jetmoto has been around over 5 yrs and will be around for a while. They make a good 250. There are a lot of people here very happy with their V-Bikes and they look good for your price range. Just remember that when you buy a atv in a crate YOU become the dealer. Dont get excited and toss it together and expect no problems. It wont happen like that. Spend a good part of a day... loctiting everything. Checking for loose bolts, making small adjustments etc.
Having said that... if you have $3K to spend I would look for a nice used Honda 400EX or Yamaha 350 Raptor/Warrior. Either of these will take more abuse than anything coming from China.

jet moto is the best one that ive heard of, but ive also heard baja's are pretty solid machines. if you just wanna do some recreartional riding then a chinese built quad wouldnt be so bad but if you wanna hit step ups and execute ground and air stunts then they will most likely part out. if your gonna be rough then a chinese quad is not a good idea.
just for laughs... most people wear superman pajamas, superman wears chuck norris pajamas...

I am not sure what I plan on using it for yet. I bought my son a Kazuma 50 a few years ago. I have a small lot where I live, but areas to ride in the neighborhood. There is also a 100 acre ATV park that is free about 8 miles from me. I was hoping to go there with the kids.

The Jet Moto shows MSRP of $2199 as a 250cc; not sure if shipping is included or not. The Baja 300cc shows $2999 with free shipping. Both look real nice, but a far cry from what I was looking at for a price point. I had saw a dealer on Ebay selling the 250cc very similar in looks for about $1200 shipped. Not sure if anyone has any input on that model. I know I can pick up a used Honda/Yamaha for about $2k, but always concerned on the amount of abuse it may have taken.

I have to ask after owning 4 Jet Moto's, you still would recommend the used Honda? Curious since you bought so many Jet Moto's what would steer you that way to suggest the Honda? I am a Honda fan, but just have to ask since I see you own a 4 Chinese bikes. Thanks for the input.

I bough Chinese because I wanted 4 atv's for my whole family to enjoy, had I bought Honda's I would have been $20,000.+, I bought all all these with a trailer for $7000. which was what my budget was. I knew I would probably have to wrench on them so I knew what I was getting into before I bought and they have not let me down. See my site it should give a complete look as to what we have experienced with the good and the bad. Would I do it again now having known, yes because that is what my budget was and we have and still are enjoying them!
