For that, I do like LT80 had suggested and get the Kymco 300.
That's also an automatic. Keeping in that group opens up the Polaris Trail Blazer 250. '06 and earlier models are 2 strokes. Size wise, it is just a little bigger than the DS250 we have, which would leave some growing room. Power wise, it's very tame stock, but can be made pretty quick, even on a budget.</end quote></div>
would u reccomend the atv. btw, i didnt hear for sure how fast it goes, because my brother came into my room disrupting me. why would it be a plastic and badging? and is kymco mongoose chinese garbage? it's just gonna be for riding around at my cabin (sand and dirt, grass, wood) and on our gravel parking lot, so nothing for races or that, just some clean fun

Honestly, not at that price.
It's comparable to our DS 250, which is also made it Taiwan. The DVX does have a little more power, but my experience with the DS, that isn't saying much.
You could find a nice used TRX250, and they are pretty solid machines. Plus, it's an auto shift. Doesn't have to use the clutch, but a really good bike to learn on.

the artic cat looks good, and the guy said it's good for beginners, and i looked at the Kymco 300 on youtube, and that one looked good aswell. when i go to my local gander mountain, i will check out what they have, and if it is too pricey, i will check local used ones. thanks for all your help

Take them with you and let them sit on it. You didn't say how old, or big the teen is, but remember, they grow.
If they're a little cramped on it now, they'll definitely be later.
Good luck with the purchase.
