Kids sunl atv
#1
I have recently buoght my son a Sunl kids ATV 110 cc. He likes to ride with the throttle wide open, to compensate for his riding habits I have been lowering the thumb screw to slow him down , now my problem is there is not enough low end power to get him up the slightest incline. Any suggestions out there to help this new problem?

this is very typical of the chinese 110cc with the automatic transmissions, no bottomend performance. the easiest and cheapest to help with this problem is just change the front counter shaft spocket, this will help but will not cure the problem. remove the counter shaft spocket cover, count the number of existing teeth, then order 1-2 teeth smaller off of e-bay, cost runs from $6.00-12.00 depending on which dealer you buy from plus around $5.00 shipping, you will also need to know the chain size brfore ordering, if you don't know already, on the side of the factory c/s spocket should have a number, it's eaither going to be a 420 or 428.

Just installed new front sprocket, I canceled the 13t order and went with a 12t, down 2 from stock 14t. My son weighs in at a impressive 30 lbs. just turned 3years old. The new sprocket showed immediate results, still is not the perfect set up, but I have the thumb throttle adjustment screw in all way Maximum speed approximately 10-12 mph which is perfect for the little guy, and he now has enough low end to get himself going. All in all I am pleased with the results.

My son is approx. 30 lbs. and approx. 39 inches tall, he sits just about perfectly on his machine. As far as growing into it, should not be a problem his machine has plenty of go! My problem was slowing him down, with some small modifications he should definatly get a couple of years with it.
