lt80 clutch/tranny
Took my clutch apart last night, what a mess. Will be ordering new rollers and a new rear spring and belt from zuki. As long as I ordering parts I have a couple ?'s.
The part that the rollers sit in, is some wear okay of should I replace?
Rule of thumb for replacing clutches, how much wear is okay?
I read in a few posts about these tranny's sifting, I feel nothing in a the way of a change. Any ideas?
Thanks

Racing the Eton Viper for 2 years we tried many different combinations with the springs and roller weights. Other than the engagement springs we ended up pretty close right back at stock. We would change things and put it against the stop watch, thats how we checked the change. It also made a difference at the track we were at, a long track compared to a short one would indicate how we set it up. If it is just for your kid to ride around the house or trail ride I guess I would leave it stock and just keep it clean.

If the front hub has gouges/grooves it's no good.
Look for wear on the lil plate that covers the rollers too.
Wear:: Clutchs should be maintainenced to keep everything clean. This usually allows a long life of the parts.
FYI: only use a dab of grease on each roller for installation.
