Kymco Mongoose 250 or Polaris Pheonix 200
#1
The wife wants to start riding with me and our sons. Mostly recreational riding on the weekends. I've narrowed it down to these two models, due to comparable prices and both have auto transmissions. I'm kinda leaning towards the Kymco which I think gets more bang for the buck, but the pink Pheonix has caught her eye. What does everybody think would be best for a new adult rider?
I also posted this in the buying forum, but thought it might get more views in this forum.

The Polaris is aaeon (sp) machine and not too good.
Like onebigzj said, I've raced a Mongoose in 2- 12 hour races, 2 mx races, and a bunch of trail/poker runs.
Rock solid. I took it to a poker run yesterday. 20 degrees and it fired on the 3rd roll over. Another trouble free ride.
BTW, it's not a race machine. I was testing for Kymco. They said to break it. We couldn't.

I am down to 250 from 285. LOL
Ya know, I love my 250R. It's power/speed/dependability are all great. It'll stretch your arms for sure. Then I built and traded a LT80 for a 300ex and I love it also. At our riding area, to the top of the hill I shifted the 300 4 times compared to prolly 10 on the R. Now comes the Kymco into play. What a machine. Like KQ400 mentioned, 250 seems small. Altho, my team mates on both 12 hour races were 6ft and non were string beans.
I chose to take it to this toy run this weekend. I'm thinking that holding onto the bars in the cold would be enough to do so my son rode the 300. My dr. buddy rode his TRX450R. The CVT would out traction the others in the same areas. I did what anyone else did.
