Default lt80 motor work

i have my sons 94 lt80 apart, it for some reason ate the front of the piston. I had the cylinder done and next size up on the piston and head shaved. Was wondering what else i can do while it is apart to make some improvements. I've run 4 rollers in the drive face, but i'm not sure if i put to much grease inside, or what. It has some wear marks in the saddles that the rollers run in, i don't know if that is normal or not. Any help would be great.

Not normal. It does happen from a variety of reasons.
If only scratched up, I'd run it. If it's heavy grooved or uneven, I'd replace it.
Only a q-tip of grease is needed on each roller altho too much usually isn't an issue unless it's getting flung out of the clutch.

cut the rear shoes and put all 6 rollers into front clutch

i've read a little bit about doing the rear shoes, not really sure what you do. I'm by no means a rocket scientist, but i have taken this apart a couple times so i think i could figure it out if someone could point me in the right direction. Thanks.

remove sec(rear)clutch. there are what look like brake shoe pads from a car. remove pads and cut pads down to 180 grams. you will need a gram scale. 10.00 on ebay. or if you close to crystal lake IL you can use mine. just cut away metal untill you hit 180 grams. its works better to help bottom end no more bog. I will see if I can find the writup on it.

so they are just drilling those holes to remove the weight?

you cut off a little less then half from pad to end of alum. to get idea of how close you are to 180 and when close you drill to get to 180. they all have to be the same. when you have the shoes in your hand you get a better idea of what i am speking

now that i look at the pics i see what u r talking about. Does anyone know what i should be looking for as far as clutch and drive face wear?

ya insted of removeing rollers the leave in all six and make all 6 rollers as light as 4. I would leave those alone. leave all six in and do the rear and you and your kid will be [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]
should be flat a little grove in the clutch face is not bad. I might have a good one if your intrested. I will take a look for it and let you know.

can you replace just the shoes or do you have to do the whole clutch assembly?
