Yes, an e-cheapo brass valve would work famously... If I could make it highly visible, that would be safe enough... I like that idea... My only fear is the lack of oil would kill that poor beastie as quick as a road flare in the fuel tank.

We didn't hit the dunes this time, we were out in Ocotillo Wells near Cty line road and Holmes camp rd.
