lt80 ticking

Default lt80 ticking

my youge blokes lt80 makes a ticking noise,it seems to be coming from the clutch area but its hard to say,if i lift the back wheels of the ground and rev it its not there,it only seems to do it under load,i know thats not much info but i was woundering if it maybe a common thing with them,any info would be most helpfull.it doesnt seem to affect the bike(yet)

I'd maintenence the clutchs to see if something is up in there.
Oil in gearbox?
Maybe a compression test to see if the piston is wore.

thank you top end is still pretty new,but i didnt even know it had oil in gear box i thought it was a dry clutch,i better go & have a better look

There is the clutchs and a gearbox.The clutchs are dry but often a cause of trouble if not maintained.

cheers lt80 i changed the oil and put some grease in the back nipple,we'll see how that go's.can the clutch cover be taken off with the motor in the bike.

Yes, the clutch cover comes off w/motor in machine.
remove all 4 footpeg bolts so you can move the pegs back and forth to get the bolts out/cover off.
Don't forget to remove the bolt at the 3 O'clock position on the lil cover to get the clutch cover off. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

What is that rear grease nipple for? i noticed it, but it was not shown in the manual...thx

It greases the axel bearings. It may take alot of grease.
