Default 95 Suzuki lt80 question

My wife and I are taking a trip up north to take a look at what appears to be a pretty clean 95 LT80. It actually looks to be a pretty clean machine from the photos. The fact that it has a headlight and a pull start as well as elec. is very appealing. My question is this. Compare to the early 2000 models (2 strokes) how would someone compare the 95. Are there any design flaws with this year. I understand mods and mileage factors. I am just talking performance between the two styles. Thanks...

Default 95 Suzuki lt80 question

The LT80 was basically unchanged from the day it came out until they replaced them with four strokes, the chassis, engine and exhaust is the same, I believe some clutching changes were made in the later ones. The motors are pretty solid, I bought a used 87 for my boy years back, badly abused, rebuilt the motor, and he ran if for years, then sold it to a friend, his boy ran it for years, he sold it, and I think it is still running today. If the quad was taken care of, it should last you a good long time.

Welcome to the forums.
95wolv is spot on. In 1989 they changed the front clutch spacer and went from 428 chain to 520.
89-06 are identical.
Rest assured that this machine is a good choice and if something is wrong with it, it can be easily fixxed.

Default 95 Suzuki lt80 question

I'm looking for parts and to rebuild the motor on my 98 LT80 (I was told it was a 98, but thinking it is and older model) because of the color configuration.

Best prices I've found for "joe mini wrench" LOL
Like stated above, all are the same except for a clutch spacer and the chain size.
Any year above 1988 will get you what you need.
