Default kids quad no idle IDEAS?

I just traded a guy for an off brand quad for my kid its a TOMOTO 150cc has same motor as all the other off brand 150's. My problem is it runs good but will only idle for a very short period then it kinda coughs or spits out the carb and quits. I have adj the idle stop but it seems to keep dropping off and the idle air screw doesn't seem to really have any effect at all. I think the carbs gotta come off and be cleaned just havent done it yet. any one have any other ideas???

A cleaning is where you start. Prolly a plugged jet.
We can speculate all day long but it's all going to start from there.

I had a similar experience, the fuel shutoff was not letting enough fuel through and it would die out once the fuel that trickled past was used up. If you have a good continuous flow to the carb then ditto on the previous post.

I had a very similar experience with a GIO ATV 110cc I got my kid last weekend. I drained out the gas and replaced it with premium (90 octane or better). I support the back end off the ground so the wheels could turn freely. Once I got the bike started I ran it at near full throttle for about 20 to 30 minutes. I have read on here that some of the Chinese bikes come with gel packs in the float bowls. These gel packs I guess are suppose to melt with gas. Maybe there is a little left over plugging a jet on yours.

After I did the above I had no problems. Saved me from taking the carb off. Here is a link to an article I found on how to adjust the carb on these things. But it sounds like you know what you're doing.

I agree with LT80,I good idea is to remove the carb, remove the float bowl, unscrew the jets, clean.Another thing to look at is a vacuum leak.I have seen intake manifolds(the rubber style)rip.I just had a 110cc NST(HSUN) atv,and I could not control the idle or the mixture screw at all,and I found a vacuum leak. You can use a can of carb or brake clean while running(BE CAREFUL of hot engine, and stay away from the coil wire)and see if you get any kind of a idle change.

you can also try changing the spark plug to an ngkc7hsa spark plug it has improved the idling of my 110 gio hummer. Gio is also now selling that spark plug as well
