2003 Suzuki LT80K3 OEM Parts, 2003 Suzuki LT80K3 OEM Replacement Parts - BikeBandit.com

Is part #14 in the above diagram to reduce the top end speed. It seems that it doesn't allow the belt to ride up as high in the pulley as if it was removed. Was this one of the kid safety devices to keep the top speed down?

NO. That piece needs to be there unless you install the longer spacer from a 1988 LT80.
Only reducers are in the carb slide and the exhaust.

Default Let the MODS begin!

I am stoked!!! I just received all of my parts from motor sport super center. I am now ready to do all of my mods. Tonight I will take off the head and give to my brother who will take it to a machinist at the Ford plant and he is going to shave .030" off. All I have to do is buy the guy lunch. I have all new parts for the front clutch. I am going to cut the rear shoes down and I have the 13t/26t sprockets to re-gear the rear end. I can't wait to spend some "quality time" in the garage with my son.

Finally getting into the clutch. Front clutch went pretty smooth even thought it has never been serviced before (missing clutch cover gasket). It had a lot of moisture in the clutch case (some rust as well). Got it all cleaned out, removed two rollers and re-grease. The rear clutch I'm having some trouble. I will be referencing from "Transmission 2" diagram. Is the nut (#14) that holds the clutch assembly on a reverse thread? I had a hell of a time getting it off. Stripped the nut completely. Not sure if I can clean up the threads on the Fixed Drive Face (#2). My next problem is removing the movable drive (#10) from the fixed/mov drive (#2, #7). Is their a trick to this procedure? Any help would be appreciated.

I do believe I read that the nut on the rear clutch was a reverse thread nut. Good luck fixing that one. I can't comment on the rest because I have not had mine apart yet. I will most likely be tearing it down tonight and will let you know what I find out. Of course LT80 will probably come along soon with a definitive answer.

I would appreciate it Moe. I'm thinking I might have to order some parts. Hope I can savage some. This is taking away from performance budget. I agree, it would be great to get some advise from the MAN himself (Mr LT80)... Good luck tonight Moe.
