Default 2002 DS50 problems running

Hello, This fall I picked up a 2002 DS50, that didn't run. I completely disassembled, cleaned, and reassembled the carb and it got it going. We ran it fairly regularly until the winter, then it sat for a while.

I tried to start it this past weekend and was able to get it going after kick starting it for a while.

The quad starts, idles, and runs, but won't stay running. I let it warm up and let my son get on it. I told him to go easy on the throttle and he did....it ran ok. I told him to press the throttle all the way and it bogged down and died.

I looked into it further and seems when I remove the large black hose going into the carb, letting more air in, it runs better, still not great.

Any suggestions as to what it might be that's causing it to run so poorly?

Thanks,

Steve

It's in the carb IMO. Try boiling it. There must be a small passage blocked.

Thanks for the reply! I was hoping it was something like a dirty air filter or something. The thought of taking that carb apart again does not excite me, but if it gets us going again it will be worth it!

Thanks again,

Steve
