removing large LT 80 clutch nut...
#1
hm, whats the deal with the skinney pos nut? seems like an air gun with the proper sized socket may be needed, I tried using a channel lock and that didn't fly, then an adjustable wrench (don't have sockets that large) anyway, took the motor off but the clutch needs to come out of the back half lol luckily it was snapped in two. but the rear axle I still need to remove a bolt the long one with the nut.. so it's attached to that too

I use i set of channel locks. I went to sears and got one of those handles that has a rubber strap for removing things that you cant get a grip on. sort of looks like a oil filter removal tool. I wrap the rubber strap around the fin looking piece and secure it. You may need an extra set of hands for it. When user LT80 chimes in on this, he might have a better way. This works well for me.

thanks!
you know, it did seem like it moved a hair when I went the other way to check, but I couldn't get it any further so I tried it regular again lol. I'll try again today afterwork possibly. I want to do the clutch shoe 180g mod and get the head milled but I'm not sure on the porting I don't really want to do that myself lol. we'll see, I'd want at least one of those porting guides to shave exact rather then draw a line and go to the line freehand..
