Just bought this lt80 for my son. It had been sitting for a while so I cleaned out the gas tank, put fresh gas in it, and took carb off disassemled it, cleaned it put everything back together and started right up. I hopped on it and got up to 25-30 mph and it stalls out then it will take off again. Almost acts like a governor. But it kept doing it and sometimes stalls all together and sometimes if your not riding it too hard or are easy on the throttle it does ok. But when it does die it always ends up starting and running. sometimes it also feels like it boggs a little and then just takes off. any suggestions are welcomed. thanks Kevin

 

I'd do a compression test just to make sure that's fine.

 

Sounds like fuel starvation on the top end. Did you check the float levels while you had the carb apart? Is your fuel tank breather tube getting pinched?

 

I pulled the vent tube off the carb, and out poured gas. The diaphram in the pet **** had a tear in it and was allowing fuel to go through the vent pipe flooding out the carb. Put a new pet **** in and zoom zoom problem fixed. runs very good. Thanks for all the suggestions Kevin
