Default very newb idle question

Hey guys, Working on this E-Ton big sized 90cc (automatic) for my nephew for xmas. I got it running very nice but having an idle problem. The quad has an electric/auto choke which seems to work great, It stays outside covered up overnight and it gets into the low 20's/high teens overnight and In the day when I go to start it it's about 25-30°F and it always starts right up so far but a problem I haven't been able to figure out is the idle problem..

When first started it runs and idles quiet and perfect for about 5 seconds till the electric choke opens up then the thing turns into a crazy animal, It gets louder, and if the brake isn't applied it slowly takes off, even with me on it (about 180lbs) it taxis down the yard, even with brake applied you can see it wanting to lerch forward. SO... I thought it was simply the idle screw so I backed it down slowly but it didn't change at all, I loosened the idle screw so much that it actually came out and quad was still idleing the same... Now in my experiences with prevous motor'd machines, if you remove the idle screw the thing is going to stall! or at the very least dramatically lower the idle. Right? I'm not much of a carb person but I know a small amount of basics and this seems weird to me!

I believe This eliminates a stuck clutch/bolt because if it was a stuck clutch it would launch off the line with high rpms and it just slowly rolls away, like a high idle. and like I said I completely removed the idle screw and the quad was still high idle.

I troubleshooted as much as I know how so hopefully someone can lend a couple of more things to try because i'm lost! I'd like this to be ready to for xmas eve if at all possible any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike

Any input fellas? The thing runs awesome besides this.. It's real big for a 90cc in my opinion. looks more like a 150 I have been thinking about keeping this one for myself and getting my nephew a newer smaller 90 but we'll see.. haha. I took it out for a short blast today in the snow this thing impressed me in the snow (wasn't much only about an inch) but still had no problem going up hills even with me on it. very impressed I'm starting to think it's been modded a little this thing is faster than the old redcat 90 I had and the sunl 90 I still have. but maybe just differant gearing/setup. fun quad .

Can anyone chime in on the idle situation please? like I said I backed out the idle screw so much I could take the screw out.. and it didn't affect the idle what so ever. very weird i'm not familar with electric choke but it seems to be working fine starts fight up in the cold, once the choke opens the thing wants to drive off. any possible causes? the throttle is fine I don't think it's binding because I can accel then take my thumb off the throttle and it lowers rpms like it should.. very lost! help

-Mike

P.S. Does anyone know what kind of E-ton this is? I can't seem to find one that looks like this online.. I can only find the smaller 90's.

Have you cleaned the carb? Maybe there is a issue with the slide/needle.
Spray carb cleaner around the intake to see if there is a leak.
Are you sure you took out the idle adjustment screw? Could it have been the air screw (just a thought)?
