Default clutch mod questions

OK I am wondering about the clutch mods I have read about. 1. Removing two rollers on the front and 2. lightening the rear shoes. What I want to know is what do you gain from only doing the front or from only doing the rear? or do they have to be done together to achieve results. Do these mods also increase speed or are they just for a better takeoff/holeshot? Thanks in advance.

Better take-off.
There is no more speed to get out of clutchs.
These mods help eliminate the famous LT80 bog.
If retaining top speed is desired, just lighten the rear shoes.

So if I just do the front, I will lose some top speed, or am I reading that wrong?, also I have searched about the rear clutch mod and it said you have to cut the pad off of the shoes, maybe im reading that wrong too but it didnt say anywhere about replacing the pads. I havent pulled the cover off the clutches so it might be more straight forward once i see whats going on in there but im a little confused about the whole process of modding the rear clutch.

EDIT

OK I think i got it through my head now, I was picturing in my head cutting the shoes parallel to the pads (like underneath the pads) but after looking some more at pics I see I need to cut the shoes perpindicular to the pads between where the pad ends and the end of the shoe
