once again 87 lt80 problem
#1
it had sat up for about 10 months from last year when i got it running then put it up. my son is now big enough to be able to ride it and now the thing wont start. i think the stator is bad i am getting 167.5 ohms on the stator wire to ground. the coil is brand new, i bought it last year. it isnt firing. what can i check for that i havent already? i believe i read somewhere the stator needs to be 180 ohms, is that true? oh yeah i cleaned the carb again in my ultrasonic cleaner, its like new again.

i have put a ground to the engine and the frame. i for the life of me have know idea what to look for next. i was thinking stator, but i guess is in spec. any other ideas?
quick question the red and black wire is it supposed to be hot or ground at the coil when the staor is working correctly? also the other wire at the coil, im not sure of the color because im not at the quad, it is a good ground. is it possible for me to have a wiring issue with the switch or or in the harness itself?
ive tested the red/black wire, i know its good to the engine side case. im a master automotive electrician, so i can handle about anything to use to check with. i have a labscope if needed.

it is firing once again. LT80 thanks for the help. just to let you guys know the male spade connector for the stator wire at the coil was spread just enough not to make a good connection. i bent them in just alittle to make a tight solid connection. she is firing really hot now. i have to put it all back together now and test her out.
