Sorry this took so long. Once again I'm snowed under with lots of stuff happening to me all at once. Nothing bad thank goodness, but still I've been so busy the last few days...

I have traced out a lot of your wiring from the colors you provided. A lot makes sense. It's like a jigsaw puzzle - a lot
of pieces fit together, but there are still some pieces missing. Let's see if we can find those missing pieces...

On your stator note which pigtail wires plug into the harness colors red on white, red on yellow, white, and red on black. Then use your meter to measure the resistance of each of these wires to the engine case. Use the 2K ohm scale (or 2000 ohms - same thing). What do you measure for each of these wires?

1) Stator wire which connects to red on white:
2) Stator wire which connects to red on yellow:
3) Stator wire which connects to white:
4) Stator wire which connects to red on black:

Plug the stator wires back in.
Set the ignition switch on.
Set all kill switches to the run position.
Unplug the CDI.

Using the meter again on the 2K ohm scale (or 2000 ohms) measure the resistance of the following harness CDI connector pins to engine case ground:

A) Blue on white:
B) White on Black:
C) Red on Black:
D) Yellow on Blue:

What do you measure for each of these wires?

New stator fitted and it's starting off the key. Not the cheapest fix for a kids bike but hopefully it's getting traded this weekend for a 125 Grizzly.

When the old stator was cleaned out, with a lot of brake cleaner, the bike started. After 30 mins or so, it wouldn't start again. Cleaned with more brake cleaner and it started again. Go figure, but it was enough to convince me to buy the new stator.

All the best

James
