Just picked up a 05 lt80. When you try to start it there is a major draw on the battery. The starter turns over for a few seconds then the red button pops. The battery is good and so is the starter relay I have a 06 lt80 and switch parts. Whats the best way to test a starter I have a volt meter and test light.

did you check for the wire going from the breaker to the starter for anywhere it may have rubbed thru the frame and is grounding out?

have you pulled the plug and tried to turn it over? maybe the fuel valve and float let fuel past and filled the cylinder with fuel

 

What Damon said..If fuel spits out, it's hydraulic locking.
No fuel spraying out, You need a starter.

 

Ya no fuel shooting out of sparkplug. I pulled the old one out that was fun. Going to put another one in from a 01 lt80.

 

Mines doing the same thing. 05 lt80 as well. I pulled the plug and she cranks better, but still not where it should be. I add a 40 amp charger to the mix and she cranks much better...
