Default LT80 running rough

Rebuilt a 1990 lt 80. Changed the crankshaft seals, bearings, piston, and jug. I cleaned the carb by soaking it overnight in the carb cleaner. Blew out all jets and openings. Machine will start and run will encouragement. At times it will idle a little rough and then die. There also seems to be a mid to high end bog. If I pin the throttle, it will need to clear out. Not sure where to go from here. I know it is still in the carb, do I buy a rebuild kit and start with all new needles and jets?

Welcome to the forums.
You put a new piston/bore in it? Compression?
I doubt a carb kit is the answer. Look at the float needle and see if there is a ring wore in it from the needle seat.

I broke down the carb and soaked everything over night. This did the trick. Machine ran perfect, nice idle, good throttle response all good until tonight. The machine stalled twice as if it was running out of fuel. i was able to get going again with the choke on. Got it back to the garage and it die again. Now it won't even fire up. I'm wondering if the plug is fouled or something else. Will tear down tomorrow.

So I found the problem to the "no" start and recently running rough problem. Turns out that the head gasket blew. Hoping that the shop has one in stock. If not any thing I can use as a replacement?

You can run without one. Won't hurt anything.
Use a lil silicone on it.

That is what I was thinking. Is this a common problem that the head gaskets blow? Thanks for confirmation LT80!

No, not a common problem.
