Default Hi :-) any knowledge will be appreciated

So.. I bought a 80cc quad from craigslist ( for my son ) it's tagged as a 2007, and seems to be in very nice condition,
It says "lifan" on the left ( clutch?) cover, and 6yg on the front serial plate, I can't find any 80cc atv's online at all and parts ????? I know you experts most likely hear this a million times, but can you tell me if or what will cross with it? I want to install a new cdi and spark plug, all the fluids and filters and do you think I can retro fit a remote start/kill switch ?? Thanks to any one who helps.. I'll do what I can for you

Sorry man, I have avoided the Chinese machines like the plague. I think the GY6 is a pretty standard scooter motor. A lot of these machines are manufactured under different names with the exact same parts. It is almost impossible to keep them all straight as many companies are in business for either a short time or change names. Heck, I think I see a new brand name every month or so even still.

Basically, if you can find any manufacturer selling models with that Lifan engine the parts will PROBABLY work for it. Chassis components get trickier. Good Luck.

Thank you scooter, I know they are junk, but the fact I can get my child up and running for under 350 fully equipped and see if he is into it all or not as opposed to 3500 you gotta see the advantage, I do appreciate your input I'm going to through it all and if we can get a decent year outta it 8i will be happy if he was like I was I best be shopping for a honda pretty quickly :-)

Supertrucker, I am not knocking ya. Heck, I have come to appreciate all the guys buying Chinese, keeps the competition lower when I have been looking to buy for my own kids. Good Luck with it, there are a few guys on here that know a ton about these things.
