I just recently purchased this atv on craigslist and when i bought it it would start right up idle good and run well for 100-300 feet then want to die unless u let off throttle. So i assumed something with carb so got it home and tore the carb apart let it soak in carb cleaner for a few hours and put back together and then the same thing. Noticed after i shut it off that gas would drain from the drain tube so opened it back up and adjusted the float to parallel and gave it another cleaning by just spraying things with the carb cleaner. Put it back together and and now it will idle but soon as giving it gas it wants to die so seems like unless the bowl is overflowing i cant get it to accelerate. I checked the fuel lines and petcock blew them all out and seems to flow ok. I have not checked compression i will be doing that later today when i can get to the store to buy a tester.

 

Did you ever figure this out, I have the same atv with the same issue.

 

His problem would have been a main jet plugged (IMO)
