IMO: If you have to put a screw in one of those holes, there is more wrong than it may seem.
What size was the big bore piston? 54mm?

54mm yea. Pretty sure its the carb tho. Its a knock off said to work on. 50 90 100 and 110 cc. The original was shot. To much oxidization to mess with. And I don't remember the stock carb having that port in the month of it.
