So...It's finally done! I transformed my boys '88 LT80 into what I thought and LT80R should look like:
  • Moore motor/carb/intake/head/clutch
  • Fox Racing Floats all around
  • Custom front end ('86 LT250R a-arms, disk brakes, hubs, wheels)
  • Motor/swing-arm bracing
  • Rear carrier mod (to accept Fox Float)
  • All bearings replaced (motor/transmission/axel)
  • Powder coated everything
  • Custom embroidered seat
  • Meier plastics
My son took it out for a spin and his comments "it's way faster than before, easier to turn and I caught some big air and it felt like a pillow on the landing..."

Job done...

p.s. my avatar is what it used to look like...

Jack - he is sooooo thrilled with it's ridiculous power punch! It leaps off the line and screams to a blazing top end!

LOL. Depends. Most mix 50/50 race gas and non ethanol premium.

Few LT80's racing these days. Most don't have a dad to fab up neat stuff to fit shocks.
Drag racing, dunes, and adult pit bikes is where my motors go these days.
I'm sure the boy will be happy with it as is for a while.
