I will get some threebond 1217h for the case
Top end kit was off ebay... was around $40
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Piston-Gask...72.m2749.l2649
I ended up putting a couple small gouges in the sides of the piston when I tore it down after replacing the top end... The seals are still untouched and the cylinder isnt affected.
I assume I will need to replace that again too?

Just sand the top of the gouge off. It'll be OK.
What's the piston to cyl clearance (if you have feeler gauges)?
I pay $55. for a Suzuki piston/rings alone (LT80's). Get where I'm going with this?

Default feeler gauges

I need to pickup some feeler gauges and check what the clearance is.
Hopefully the kit I bought will work... would rather not dump any more money into this machine if I don't have to.

Default finally...

so I finally got it running.
after tearing back down the motor, I sealed it with gasket sealer and everything seemed to be setup correctly. I had an issue where the carb wasn't set right, so I had to give it full throttle as I kick started it.
Adjusted that and now its running like a champ.
I think my initial issue was a blown crankshaft bearing that eventually blew the seal out next to it so it was hard to start in the beginning and eventually took out my compression.
I've learned a lot about these little machines and still have some questions that I will start a new thread on
