I can see what’s wrong but how to get it back right is the next thing. The lever has come off the spline and it’s not gripping it to pull the U shape bar round as shown in photo.

You're missing the bolt that keeps it tight.
Look at a parts fiche.
As far as the splines. Loosen the brake, stick the lever on and install that lil screw/bolt. Then adjust the brake.

I’ve got the nut and bolt, just took it off when photo was taken. I just can’t get the lever to fit over the splines. Small amount of damage maybe and not catching the spline to line up correctly?

Cleaned and replaced carb on other bike and starts first push of the button now. One small problem though, it’s leaking petrol from the carburettor. I’ve looked around online and see that it could be the float is stuck on?? I’ve also seen someone that has shot air up the fuel pipe to release the float? Would you recommend this to work? Thanks

No. The float needle seems to get sticky. Ethanol has been a giant problem. I recommend a simple on/off valve close to the carb. Then you shut it off and let it run till dry. When you turn the fuel on it washes the needle off. This has helped a lot.
