Question 2001 LT80 Movable Drive Face

I had to replace the crank on our 2001 LT80. The clutch was also a mess so I rebuilt/replaced the front clutch. I got it all assembled and everything was working as intended. I thought I heard a noise coming from the front clutch so I puled it back apart for inspection. The movable drive face has light wear where the key cutout is and the key on the crank is also worn down? Any idea what could cause this? Is it possible that I just didn't get the nut tightened down enough? The spring washer is in place and the nut wasn't loose when I took it back apart.

Any ideas? Is LT80 (Jack) still around? I am guessing that he has an answer for me I have a new movable drive face on the way and a new key for the crankshaft.

Jack is still posting, he must have missed this one, can't quite remember how it all goes together, but I would guess something hasn't been lined up, so you were not tightening the outer sheave, washer, spacer tube, and drive face plate together. I also note there are two different spacer lengths available, there must be a reason for that.

Thanks merryman! The whole clutch was messed up when I tore it apart and I believe the previous owner probably didn't align everything and/or didn't tighten it down. The teeth on the crank were worn down almost flat. The front drive had worn the lip on the flywheel down! I am guessing that I just simply didn't have it aligned 100% or didn't get it tightened down enough but figured some of you guys could set me straight. I will also measure the spacer and verify I have the right length. Thanks again!

Ya, you didn't get the key aligned (or it slipped off) during installation.
I tip them on the right side to make installation a lil more easy.

Thanks Jack, I put the new drive face in there and triple checked the alignment and tightened it down and we are good to go. Your knowledge and advise on the LT80's has helped me do a ton of work to this thing. Thanks man!
