I thought Jack would have come in on this one as he is the expert. Anyway, there are two different ignition systems used on LT80s, one uses a CDI and the other doesn't but the first thing to check with either system is if the kill switches are OK, if fitted, the "sink plug" type is prone to problems. I have also had bikes come in with non starting issues which have turned out to be the kill switch in the wrong position too. Early LT80s used the same system as LT50s, a coil in the flywheel produced a surge of power at the right time each rev, this was fed to an ignition coil, and this fired the plug. Later machines did have a CDI but I think the combined power and timing coil was still used, this fed the CDI and the CDI fed the ignition coil, unusual because most quads have separate timing and ignition power coils on/in the flywheel. I put a wiring diagram up on here a while ago, here is a link to it https://atvconnection.com/forums/kid...er-wiring.html
