LT80 Chain and sprockets
#1
Have done some reading around and have seen the sprockets on Midwest mini and am wondering if this is the best route for acquiring a 428 chain/sprocket combo. My son has a 2003 LT80 and it runs great, pretty much all stock the only thing I've done is block off the oil injector and added a chain tensioner from Midwest mini because stock chain had a lot of slop.
Reason why I'm even asking about all of this is because the stock chain now has a couple kinks and is very stiff. So do I just buy a new stock chain, or go with a little upgrade with the combo kits from Midwest? They offer 2 kits, 1 for more top speed (they claim +5mph) or they offer a torque kit for sand dunes and I'm assuming it's slightly slower. My son has a full season under his belt in the desert and I don't even have the throttle maxed out yet, and we do ride in sand but not always in sand, some of it is hard pack. Any thoughts on which direction I should go? I figure even with the torque kit he'll still be able to go plenty fast.

That's good to hear. I was leaning toward the speed kit, but tough to find much info on them. Thanks for the reply.
