My boys have a LT80 (1987) Handed down through the familiy. Still kicken after all these years. One tough little sucker. The chain is always loose. It can't be tightend. What are the stock teeth amounts on the front and rear sprockets. Is there someplace that sells sprockets for the bike with more teeth? Even after installing a brand new chain and sprockets the chain is still loose. After a few times of riding even the new chain begins slipping. TIA

Here is the deal. Go to Suzuki and get the front sprocket for a 2000 LT80. That sprocket uses a 520 chain. Next, get some 520 x-ring chain by DID. Finally, decide on the rear sprocket size and call Sprocket SPecialists to order the size you want. BE sure to tell them that you have the 520 chain.
Good Luck.

Your LT80 has a 428 chain and the stock sprocket sizes are 12-26,the newer LT's use a 520 chain and the stock sprockets are 10-22, you can get bigger sprockets for either chain from sprocket specialists, you may want to simply install a roller to take up the slack. If you feel a need to go to the 520 chain, contact me,I have severall stock 520 sprockets, as any LT-80 that I build,we change them back to the 428 chain (well i use 40 chain, same size and pitch)reading you post again makes me think a roller is the best idea as you have spent alot allready on the new sprockets/chain,,email me for roller info
