Default Any negative feed back on LEM?

We plan on buying our son's bike next year. We've narrowed it down to a LEM Cayman or Condor. Has anyone had any negative experiences with them?

I have never even seen one. But I have been told by people who race that they make the best 50cc out there. It is very easily modded too.

1-Main jet to small-stalls when it gets hot
2-Lean condition from (1) caused detonation and blew top end

This is a great suspended quad that runs great, but it definitely needs a fatter jet to prevent problems.

The tires are quite small and the rear sprocket is quite large (and unprotected) so be careful trail riding in stock form

It has an "open" rearend instead of a single axle which allows the quad to turn tight corners without tipping but you lose traction on the inside corner when you turn sharply, quickly

If you are looking for a mini to race this is definitely the one! There are tons of aftermarket parts available for it and can be made into rip snortin power houses if you want to.

I just ordered a new top end, pipe & silencer, wheels & tires, widened a-arms, etc., etc. for my daughters '02 from
AC Racing. Looking forward to getting it back up and running to see what it will do now.

You can also get parts from Polini

Even with the problems we had with it running lean I would still recommend it based on the other great qualities.

I got rid of my sons LEM condor 6 months after buying it. It will not run in sand. Stator went out on second trip. Controls are too hard for a 4 or 5 year old to work. Now he has an LT50 and hauls butt.

I bought one for my Daughter and It is NICE!!! It is WAY FASTER then the LT50.
The best thing is as they grow you can upgrade the quad for more power as needed unlike the other 50cc mini's out there. The only other mini quad that is any good for Racing is the New Kasea. Don't by a LT50 as it has POOR suspention and is SLOW as a Snail.
My daughter now races it and Smokes all other brands at the track, The only thing that gives her any competion is the other LEM's. Check out AC Racing for upgrades, A-arms wider wheels & Tires Ported Cyl.....
The only problem we ever had was fixed with a larger Main jet.

LEM Sure the plastic looks nice BUT ........

1. Plastic front hubs
2. Dog leg rear end is absolute junk
3. Will burn up if ridden in sand
4. Engine will crack out of the frame or frame will crack away from engine
5. Axles will crack cause a nasty crash
6. Spindles on front are known to snap off
7. Ignition system is very prone to failure
8. Delorto carb is a nightmare

When built, the clutch will slip on the crank causing a big $$ repair
More axles will fail
Aftermarket front a-arms have improper geometry and cause massive toe changes
Various cylinder packages cost in excess of $300
Aftermarket pipes don't fit very well
Eliminating front plastic hubs means no front brakes

Thanks guys for all your feed back. I'm glad I asked about LEM considering we plan on doing most if not all our riding on sand. Our main use of the bike will be recreational rather than racing. We went out this weekend to look at some more possibilities. We liked the Suzuki 50. Has anyone had any problems with them?

no problems with the 2002 LTA50. Remove the intake and exhaust restrictors and run low air pressure in the tires and it will run great in the sand. Plus it holds its resale value a little better than the others.

I have to say we have had the quad sence 1999 new. I have NEVER had ANY of the problems stated!!
But if you wish to buy the SLOWEST quad out there With NO upgrade parts go for it.
My daughter has raced over 40 races with alot of trophy's to show for it and has never BROKE anything, With a little tuning know how the quad rip's.
Retail on the LT50 is NOT that great and it is a HEAVY SLUG. The LEM its the Lightest , I paid $1975 out the door new in 1999 and can get at least $1500 for it at anytime.
Don't get me wrong I love Suzuki's as that is the brand I Race myself (But the LT 50 is a TURD!!!!) And also one of the smallest Mini quads out there so your kid will out grow it rather fast..

Everyone has there opinion just giving you mine
