Best 80-90 cc quad for big boy
#41
i bought some little gliders and had them on the honda ,and they stunk, i bought some fast trekkers on aluminum rims and they sucked in the sand, like i said we were always pushing. the honda is a nice quad we have race cut plastic andf it looks like the big machines and it handles nice in the dirt, but like you we ride sand. then i got talked into the ds 90 and it runs nice it has the wider tires stock but it still gets stuck but the engine revs better than the honda. i think it would pull the paddles ok, but we put the paddles on the suzuki and it goes every where we go except the taller hills so we just find the easier way, and like i said earlier i am thinking of sending the engine to Lt 80, last ride my daughter was racing another girl on a breeze and i was surprised the 80 jumped al over it and took a good 250 feet to get caught, so the hole shoot is nice, they will pull the tires off the ground in the front, she spins cookies with her brother, she thinks she is on a ds 650, which mades all of us happy. with the size of your son he might not be on it long but they seem to resell good that is the other side to consider, seems around here the cheap side is $1500 some less some more depends on shape. unless you get lucky $800 for me on a fresh rebuilt and almost perfect plastic i smile every time i go to the dealer and see another Lt, they sell worse shape than mine for $1700. so to answer i can't get her to try with out paddles, but she feels like everybody else in the family and 9out of 10 have them at the dunes we ride. like the earlier thread the other two sit one in my garage and the other at my brother in laws his girl rides it and wants the suzuki instead also. the other thing that is to funny that i have not mentioned is the little kids see another bike like theres and they get excited, they come and ride the circle around each other then play chase. and my son that is 9 he learned the blaster in about two days, although i did have him on a kx-65 so the clutch brake thing comes easy enough. yeah he will line up against the 650 too. well good luck what ever you decide it will be fun and if you make it out to ds days we can go out with the familys

Thanks for the info.
Riding with the family is alot of fun. My son is good sized, but I would hope that he could stay on it for at least 3-4 years. Then he would be 9 or 10 and we could get something bigger. Just depends on him of course.
I am not sure about ds days yet. My wife is pregnant with our second child now and is due the first of July. So, it will depend on how everything goes. I need to look at the dates for this year. If possible I will try and make it. The good thing is she will be off of work for two months and then working half time the third, so hopefully we can do several trips during that time frame.
