Sold the LT50...what next???
#1
I sold my son's LT 50 last night and will have to replace it within the next 2 weeks (can't neglect my little riding buddy). I was considering the Polaris Predator 90. The Predator 90 seems to fit the ticket. I like the looks and tires, but is the suspension really that much better than the Suzuki 80, or is it too overly stiff (which is a rumor I heard)? I'd appreciate any responses cause I have to decide soon! I had even considered a Kasea but I heard that getting parts can be a hastle, is that true?

The suspentions on them are useless. I call them "parent pleasers" as the parents are the only ones pleased with the suspention. Like you have heard,they are too stiff,thus useless.
I understand the suspention inadaquacy's of a LT-80, but I still think it's one of the best mini's out there.

Thanks LT80, I agree the little Suzuki is a fine machine. We actually had an LT80 for him before I got the 50, so I am familiar with the suspension on the LT80. It was used, but still in fair shape. I really regret selling the LT80 and getting the Lt50 at all, but hind sight is 20/20! The LT 80 was used and I bought the LT50 new. Now I need a larger, more powerful, better suspended mini. My son would max out the LT80 and the LT50 suspension which is the reason I was considering the Predator 90. I am kind of torn on what to do. I know If I get the Suzuki he will like the power, but he will not like the suspension, but if I get the Predator 90 he will have more travel, but if it is overlystiff it is useless. Perhaps I should get the Polaris and check into aftermarket shocks, or maybe even chech into suspension mods for the LT80, which will still seem limited due to the way the engine and rear suspension are connected. Needless to say, I am confused on what to do!

I see this thread is a little old, but my son LOVES his DS50. The DS90 two and four strokes looked great too. Same frame, but with bigger motors and tires.. The DS90 two stroke would have to rip. The 50 gets it. twice the quad as the Lt50. Super quality.

My 8 yr old rides a DS90 two stroke. We have made these mods;
Pilot Jet- 7.5
Main Jet-102
Drilled Needle seat 2 steps,
Smaller tires on stock rims ( Carlisle 16x6.50-8 )
19/28 sprocket setup
Foam filter with dust shield straight off the carb.
With only these simple mods, from a dead start, after 90 feet we are 15-18 bike lenghts ahead of the stock predator. But of course this bike is mainly shorttrack and TT ridden. Have no idea what it could do in sand or hilly conditions. Am still researching info on variator and clutch mods. But from what i have learned and heard from others the Bombardier's DS50 & 90 2 strock's stock exhaust is perfect for allowing these type of mods.
