***Cannondale Moto440***

I would love to have one, but the main thing standing in my way is $13,000.
I think what I will do is buy a Cannibal and slowly turn it into a moto.
I would like to say one thing about the moto,
It really is an awesome machine, I didn't get a chance to ride it, but I did see Tim Farr and Ben Jackson ride a pre production unit yesterday 11-5-01 and they had the thing flying. It was great.

I'm still trying to decide if I should get the Moto440 or just keep my FX and turn it into one. Brad_L I was thinking the same as you,but the longer I thought about making mine into a Moto the worse it seemed. The main thing for me is alot of the aftermarket parts I would get would be put on a credit card, as I dont make enough to buy them all with cash. So those things would have me paying in the longrun alot more than what a Moto would cost even after the finance charge on the Moto. I would still be paying for my FX (finance charge included) plus a butt load of finance charges on the credit card or cards for a lot of the aftermarket parts. I'm not shure but I figure I would be paying somewhere around $2-$3 grand more. The only thing that makes me want to keep my FX is I could have it any way I wanted it,plus I've already bought some things for it. Oh and there's no chance of Farr riding for Nacs/Cannondale like Jackson is there Brad_L?
Hey thumper711, I forgot ( hmm.. I wonder if the doc. knew what he was talking about when he said my helmet worked,I sure forget alot of things it seems hee! hee!) Anyway I forgot to ask you when I talked to you today about your AFCO shocks. Are you keeping them or getting rid of them. I may be interested in them if your selling.

MrP,
The PreProduction Moto looked almost identical to the picture on Cannondale's webpage
http://www.cannondale.com/motorsport...440_model.html
While I was there they was playing with ride height. The only problem was that if the quad was lowered too much the tie rods would hit the frame rails when the shocks compressed.
CdaleRacer,
I see where you are coming from with the finance problems.
Oh and sorry, but Farr isn't going to be riding with Nacs/Cannondale.

It was rough to me,
I actually prefer a loamy style track compared to a hard pack, and this track is hard, really hard.
The track was plowed before the last race event that had been held at this place. There were small ruts, tiny bumps, and holes all over the track.
The only other bike that was there to compare with the Moto was Tim Farr's 426 quad.
I did actually get to ride the moto today 12-8-01. Ben had already gone and Tim wasn't there. I asked the head tech guy if I could ride it and he said it would be ok.
I don't know if the suspension will be exactly like the preproduction unit I rode, but if it isn't, I really do not know how they could make it any better. It worked great and no matter how I landed the quad always seemed to straighten up and be ready to go again.
