dune250r, I haven't been there, my uncle took my 250R there once and a couple of my friends have been and they all say that it is cool down there. I'd say from what I heard it's worth the drive. DirtDiggler, I thought the same about the shocks but then more than one person told me the opposite.

SparkyEX has one of the first Cannibals and it his Ohlins shocks which are silver with a yellow spring. The dealer verified it was and older one not only buy the shocks and rings but by the on board computer. The same dealer (the honda shop in Batavia, NY) has a brand new Cannibal as well it has thinner more flexible and lighter plastic. The plastic also has an emblem that is the Cannondale "C" molded right into the plastic instead of the yellow "C" sticker on the other one. The shocks are also black with yellow springs. With the exception of the computer most people and magazines agree the older ones with the Ohlins shocks and aluminum rims are quite the bargain. There is actually a picture of the newer Cannibal on page 36 of the ATV Action mag and it looks identicle to the one at the dealer.

I'm not trying to argue but I am just confused. Early pics of the moto and blaze show the cannibal next to them with black shocks, yellow spring. Also in the Dirt wheels mag where they tested all four "new" models, the cannibal had silver shocks, yellow spring. Finally, if I bought mine about 1 1/2 weeks ago the day after they got it in, why would it be an old one. Cannondale made the final changes in like september or sometime around then. I wouldn't think they would make and ship the "older" models two months later. Maybe I just missed a step, but if mine is an "older" model it's no big deal. It is still a crazy quad. More than enough power for me. I want a HMF exhaust but not really for the power but just because they sound awesome.

The reason you could have purchased an old one is because they are still out there and most people magazines included consider them a steal because of the Ohlins shocks and ITP rims. I don't remember if it was Dirt Wheels or the previous issue of ATV Sport but when they tested the new Cannibal they actually had two one that had the silver Ohlins shocks and one that had the black shocks and the pictures made it a little confusing. The dealer in Batavia has one of each so they do have an old one still. I also believe the Ithaca NY dealer still has an old one. I'm not putting down your machine man I think SparkyEX's Cannibal is awesome, I love those Ohlins shocks so if you got them you hooked up. The new Cannibal with the higher rev limit and black shocks doesn't have the quality suspension.

One more thing Cannondale had two or three versions of the Cannibal until they finally got the production run to be all the same. The one in the new ATV Sport is what the're all like now. Look at the moto, You can see on picture of it with the chasis lowered down and the a-arms running straight across like a normal moto style quad and then in the next picture it's sitting up like the blaze, they also show the moto coming with brush guards which all the dealers say isn't true they just happened to be on the prototypes they took pictures of.

Well ****. I guess I do have an "older" one. The new ones don't have Ohlins, not even cheaper versions of what is on the Speed? I got em all the way around and they sure are awesome. I don't have the upgraded EFI either? I'm still confused due to about ten different people sayin ten different things, but oh well, I'm extremely happy with this quad and can't wait to take it out to the track! Later
