I had no dip stick so I drained the oil and put 1.3 quarts into the cdale and the whole day oil kept coming out but the top was on tight! Was this just the overflow because I put too much oil in or was this something bad?

Bad move there. If you don't have a dip stick than you can't tell if you have enough or to much oil. If you have to little or to much oil, you're just askin for problems. If you don't have the right part for something as important as that, make a sacrifice and skip the ride or else try to find something else to ride. Not a good choice there man.

my dad swears we had the right amount of oil in there, he says it was just oil from the day before. i think he is right, it makes sense.

Are you sure you checked the right location? If you checked the oil on the left side of the case, it doesn't have a dipstick. It is for the transmission. If you put 1.3 quarts in the transmission, that may explain why oil has blown out all over. The engine oil dipstick is up on the frame under the right side headlight cover.

yes, that is where i went. you unscrew the headlight and the dipstick screws into the frame.

IF you over fill the engine case (at the clutch fill hole), oil will vent out. Near the front sprocket, you will find a 6mm bolt that is the oil level inspection hole. Remove the bolt and let the oil drain until it is at that leve. That gear box takes about 750cc.
