Well I picked up my bike after it's first service, ( More money than time and I found why the bike would have a Shimmy at speed 3rd gear half trottle and up. As I was washing it, I cleaned the front wheels and spun them around. There is about 1/8" runout on the rim. The holes appear to be drilled off center.

Now who do I can Cannondale or ITP? My dealer is 2 hours away and the closest is not that good with Cannondale, YET.

Also, they told me I had the metal oil filter, what are the pro's and con's of this?

Thanks

Smitty

Well the pros of the metal oil filter is that it's reuseable. I change my oil after every ride so I'm glad I have the reuseable. Not sure if there is a con unless it doesn't filter as efficient as a paper filter, not sure about that.

Come on Brian! EVERY ride? that's dedication...I've got the metal filter and change every 10-15 hours. The oil does seem to carry alot of contaminants that the paper filter might remove.

My wheels weren't true when I got my 'C' either. Now they've got several flat spots too. I'm looking for a rolled edge wheel, Douglas ultimate i guess. But which one, the billet really isn't that big a difference? And what size? trail or MX?

I'm sure your dealer/ITP will work that out for you Smitty. I decided i wasn't gonna Pay my dealer to learn how to work on my 'dale and have done it myself. Not really hard but i have spent some TIME on it. Make sure he's using loctite!

Ryanstones,

Did you get new rims and tires though warrenty, when the dealer removed the tire they said a chunk was missing from the bead.

Maybe I'll buy some mohawks for this weekend at Glamis and worry about this later.

Suspendid particales in your oil are probably better than having them settle somewhere. I'm not sure though. Non-detergent oil will allow them to settle and detergent oil is supposed to keep them suspended so they will leave when you change the oil. Or so I've heard.

I would want to see that tire Smitty. It's understood that the dealer is there to serve himself first, i think.
I didn't realize waht was up with my wheel(s) til after i had hit several, hehe, rocks. So no warranty.

Well I don't ride probably near as often as the rest of you so I do in fact change my oil after every ride, transmission oil after every other. Most all of my riding is at the dunes and alot of times it's
WOT drag racing. I also use Castrol full synthetic oil. I'm not taking any chances!!!

Guys,

I had the same problem with a front tire on my Speed. When I picked it up from the dealer it wouldn't hold air. I checked for leaks and found that it was leaking near the rim. I compressed the tire enough to see that there was a cut out of the bead, probably from the tire tool or something. My dealer swapped the tire and rim with one that was on a Cannibal on the showroom floor.
