Also is 8000 out the door a good price for the speed and are there any options that i may get at the dealer like the mapping stuff or anything else? my dealer has 1 speed left but i was wondering if the speed will ourperform the raptor and new z400 on the track, woods, and top speed? thanks

Well my Cannibal has out performed every Raptor I have ever ridden against on the track. Top speed is higher on the Dale than it is on the Raptor too. The raptor would probably do better in the woods though, since it is narrower and has reverse. The Speed is supposed to do a little better than my Cannibal (mainly it only has better front shocks... good for mx) and my Cannibal has been AWESOME.

A better deal is getting one of the "older" cannibals that has the ohlin shocks, that is if you can still find them. I was watching another cannondale forum and apparently Cannondale has some special they are giving their dealers now. They are taking the 2001 cannibal models in from their dealers and refurbishing them for $5000.00. It's apparently up to the individual dealer then how much they want to sell them for. Apparently they come with a full warranty and I've heard some dealers are selling them for a little over $5K. It's hard to justify $8K for a Speed when you can get basically the same quad for alot less money.

And yes, the Speed and Cannibal will both outperform the raptor in top speed and on the track. Look no further than the pro's who just ran Cannondales in the stadium series races, there were a few podiums for the C'dales, pretty impressive!!

I'm confused... I thought that all of the Cannibals come with Ohlins shocks. I was told by the dealer that the Speed comes with front Ohlins shocks with reservoirs and the Cannibal comes with front Ohlins shocks without reservoirs.

No, all the Cannibals that are shipping now have a cheaper shock, can't recall the name currently, gervin or something like that.
The Speed's all have the Ohlin shocks. That's why I was saying, if you can find one of the earlier Cannibals with the Ohlins, much better deal.

Forgot to add that the Speed does not come with reservoirs, you can send them to Ohlins and have them added but they do not come from the factory that way. Sounds like your dealer needs to get up to date on the product they are selling! Check out Cannondale's web site for more info on the quad lineup:

The "new" Cannibal's that are being shipped now come with Arvin's shocks. I was talking to my neighbor about the Cannondale bikes and I asked if he had heard of Arvins shocks. He says they'll still outperform the shocks on a Raptor and probably the LT400Z

The stock Cannibal has Arvin shocks.

Arvin also makes shocks for the DS650 and freight liner trucks.

Disturbed,

I was at Glamis with piped Raptor and a Ron Woods stage one DS650 (without the RW's carb), My stock Speed beat them each race up comp hill. Why lie the truth is so much more fun. Who knows why they (Dirtwheels) picked the raptor over the cannondale? They are starting to be raced at the tracks, and trails, they are tough machines, rev fast, great componets, and perform all around, stronger trans amd frame than a raptor. Buying a turn key go ride bike that outperforms all comers stock and some modified, is the best, did I mention warrenty, or customer service, we can come back to them.

Stock for stock you can't compete (in a drag race) with a Cannondale. Period. Everywhere else, rider is the decider.
