Anybody else with Cannibals having alot of fading with their plastic? For not being out in the sun very much, my plastic seems to fade awfully easy. Anyone have any suggestions on a good wax or cleaner that will keep it shiny? I even tried some plastic polish but that didn't seem to help. I've heard the green bottle of turtle wax works good but I haven't tried it.

color fade or shine fade?

Shine fade is normal & unavoidable if the quad is ridden - you should have seen my 400EX before I swapped the plastic out - looked like it was 10 years old...

Good question, I guess it would be shine fade, it's just real dull now. But it's not that the color of the red is fading necessarily. What's the best stuff to use to bring back that shiny new look again?

Well, a lot of people use Plastic Renew, haven't tried it myself...

Mop & glow works pretty well, as does furniture polish. Both make the plastic "slick" and easy to clean as well.

I've used an automotive buffing wheel & rubbing compound on heavily scratched (faded) plastic on my old 250R with excellent results before - just lots of work.

My plastic still looks great. After each ride I pressure wash it, then i use Armorall(sp?) on the plastic. I use the air compressor to clean out areas that the pressure washer might damage.

Don't use the turtle wax that comes in a little tub. I speak from experience here... it will only make the scratches more visible (the wax will settle in the scratches and look white) and it is a b!tch to clean out. I tried it on my 300ex and will never be so dumb again. I hear a lot of people say some good things about plastic renew but just the thought of sanding on my plastics makes me a bit nervous.

the best plastic shiner i have heard of is mop n glo. i used a generic version of it and it seemed to work really good. it won't shine up scratched areas as good but smooth areas come out real nice. i put three coats on and it was great and it lasts a long time too.

The Turtle Wax Formula 2001 in lime green spray bottle is the best. Plastic is oil based so when the oil is removed by sunlight or detergents
it fades and get's brittle. UV protection is important. Use a plastic wheel cleaner when washing like Espree Wheel Magic it will also help. Formula 2001 has UV protection in it.
