someone stated that they can do most turns in 3rd and only 90 degree turns in 2nd, that is what I have found as well, one question, do you ever get into 4th gear on the MX track? I can seem to ever get there, I was wondering if spending a day in gears 1-3 most of the time is bad for the engine, high revs and all. I havent had a problem yet but just wondering.

Although I don't own a C-Dale, I spend all day riding in 2nd/3rd gear and I don't have any problems, unless thats what would cause my lower rod bearing to go out

according to sidewinder the ratio of counter sprocket to sprocket is 1 to 3
1 tooth on the counter sprocket is equal to 3 on the sprocket

Here's a Cannondale specific gearing calculator:

http://home.earthlink.net/~gellett/cdale.htm

Equivalence of rear sprocket teeth to front is a ratio - it's not just a flat three teeth to one or two teeth to one, it depends on their respective sizes.
