Speed wont start. ?

Tried to start my speed today after about 2 weeks of not being started and didnt make a sound of trying to start... put a screwdriver on the battery starter part and started right up so i'm thinkin theres a problem in the killswitch part. Also is it really bad not to change the oil- tranny and engine - after an hour of use? rode about an hour on the machine 2 weeks ago and want to ride tomorrow but dont got the time now to change the oil. could i put another 2 hours on it without changing it? thanks

You are NOT serious about the oil question...are you? You can do whatever you want, but that oil was break-in oil and I think you are rolling the dice if you go against the manual and common sense and don't change your oil. How long does it take to change the oil that you don't have enough time to do it? You should reconsider. As for the starting problem, I think that your battery needs charging and that is why it won't turn your quad over. Yes, it worked with the screwdriver, but with a computer brain running things on your quad; not a wise idea to do that redneck type stuff.........JIM

Yeah, go to sleep a little later tonight or skip the TV show you were planning on watchin (it's close to summer and they will show the rerun to it ) and go change that oil. In fact, if you're that pressed for time, you can do other stuff while you're changing the oil. I usually sit there for a little while and watch the oil drain out so there is time to do something else while you're workin on the quad. Think about it man, you have a $8,000 quad (+/- $$). Would you really want to take any chances. When you change the oil and clean the filters, you'll notice there is a lot of metal shavings on the filter and in the oil.
