A few simple questions

Really wanting a cannondale, probly the speed, just wanted to make sure of some things first.
How well sealed is the airbox? If my understanding is correct, the front plastics act as the lid, correct? So this also means that the front plasitc must be removed in order to clean the filter, right? Is this a pain in the @ss? Have you noticed that the filter needs cleaning any more often on other quads that you've owned?
I heard alot about the chain sliders on the first few models that came out, is that problem fixed, or will I be buying a new one every couple months?
Are there grease fittings on the a-arms, ball joints, and swingarm?
What about the "heel guards", I notice that they are plastic like on the Honda's. I know from experience that the Honda ones don't hold up worth a darn. Is this the case on the C-Dale's?
Another thing, they look kinda wide in the gas tank area, does it feel extremely wide?
How well does the stock axle nut hold up? Does it come loose pretty easy, and if so, is there an aftermarket hub/nut available already?
Any other minor problems? Such as loose bolts, or tearing seat covers? What about the oil changes, are they a hassle? Does the tranny filter have to be changed every time as well?
I know I asked alot of questions, but don't want to have to work on it more than I ride it.

Hey 54 i'll give your questions a shot.
The air filter is housed under the front plastic and is pretty open. It's very high on the quad and should be fine for most riding except serious mudbogging. It is easy to get to and clean. It does get dirty faster. 'cause it's moving so much air!
I believe the new chain slide solves the wear problem.

I have smacked some big rocks hard enough to think the heel guards broke. They haven't.

You gotta figure though that as owners rack up the hours that new problems will develop, and cannondale and the aftermarket will solve them. I think Cannondale will be a force in motorsports for a long time to come. Go For IT!

So let me get this straight... the oil is housed in the frame rails, similar to a YZ426F, correct? And you must remove 3 bolts to drain the oil, plus change the filter. Is it really necesarry to change the filter every time. I have only changed the filter twice on my 96 warrior with no probs. I do change the oil quite frequently however.

54, you dont have to change the oil filter thats the cool part! The oil filter is a metal mesh screen that you can just rinse off and put back it. The frame has two metal nipples that you just loosen and the oil drains out, then you take offa bolt that drain the engine and the oil filter comes out. IT isnt that hard, I can do it in 15 minutes if the oil is relatively warm.

Trout, when you say to rinse off the filter, I hope you mean w/ an air compressor... there is also another bolt on the motor for the tranny oil and you use compressed air to clean it off also. Pretty simple... I have needed less cleaning of the air filter on this quad than I did my old 300ex. And you also need to change the fuel filter every now and then but that doesn't take but a couple of min.

Thanks fellas, you have me convinced. It's not that there's anything wrong with my Warrior, I plan on keeping it, so that my dad, or anyone else that wants to ride can. It's just that I'm 6'7", 250 pounds, and I think that the CDale will do a better job of hauling me around. The fact that I'm finished with college in less than 2 wks, and will hopefully getting a high paying job helps too.
