I spent 1 hour putting in a new chain slider. i had to flip over the quad to get that bottom bolt in! anyways after that i went down the dirt road(1 mile)and on the way back antifreeze was all over my leg again(reoccurring problem). the cannibal was steaming and antifreeze was everywhere, so i stopped it and went and got the AC to pull it back. i put in new antifreeze and tightened all the hoses, but a little bit is still coming out. anyways, after that i went to do some jumping and it felt awesome. the ohlins are great now but you must always remember to keep the throttle on when you land because of the high compression or you are in for a trip over the bars. it felt great today, but towards the end of the day it started backfiring almost every time i would deccelerate. i thought maybe i cracked my pipe, but i didn't see a crack. any ideas?

oh yeah, my gas tank is leaking so bad now it is dangerous. you can feel a steady stream of vapors coming on your legs as you ride. it is getting much worse, cdale should give free tanks.

Corndog-that quad is dangerous. You better park it. You REALLY need to fix the gas leak NOW! If cannondale will not, you SHOULD! There is no reason to take chances!

I don't see why cannondale wouldn't fix your problem, they have done it for many people according to these forums, so quit your bitchin, go to your dealership and be patient, and then when they fix it be very very grateful

Dude, you really need to develop a congenial relationship with your closest cannon dealer! Whether your problems are covered by c'dale or not they are pretty easy to fix and wouldn't be that expensive. The coolant leak is almost surely a cracked coolant resevoir. Easy, cheap. Gas leak may require a new cap or tank. Maybe not cheap, Pick a dealer, be NICE and patient. Your backfiring is a question but may be as simple as tightening the 12 point head pipe bolts. Not easy, but you can do it. Your prob's are all fixable, the mechanical ones anyway You own the quad, they are your responsibility! Quit crying about this stuff and fix it! Good luck.

It's people like you that got the CPSC on ATV manufacture's butts in the 80's and made them stop producing hi-performance ATV's. Nothing's ever your fault is it? It's always somebody elses. I guess that after the timeing chain snapped on my and blew up my X an hour into the break in I should sue FST because while putting my engine back together that they supplied parts for I installed the cam chain tensioner upside down.

Why does anyone even answer his posts? I personally don't believe anything he says and am surprised that anyone else does. Nobody else with a Cannondale has even close to the problems he (claims) he has. I think he is just a kid with a great imagination.

Well, then maybe he is not bs-ing. He must just have bad luck with his Cannibal. Seems like everyone else who has a Dale deals with the extra maintenance fine and has only a few minor problems. I personally don't have anything against him. Just seems that the way he answers posts lends itself to stretching the truth.

Corndog, I know you bought it used but Cannondale seems like they want to have happy customers so you should be able to get this taken care of. There is obviously something seriously wrong with your machine. I would take it in and have them look at it. I bet you could get this done for free by contacting Cannondale directly.
