I just called you at about 6:00PM here. I don't remember if I asked you when your getting the new oil filters in. Like I said earlier I called RS yesterday and they said about 3 weeks on the filters and I really don't and can't wait that long. Any way if you could fill me in on that I'd appreciatte it. I might have to get another paper for temp. or do you think it would really damage the engine if changed oil but not filter. THANKS for the help!!!!

No problem newdale, anytime.

I would go ahead and replace the filter with a paper element until you upgrade to the stainless steel piece. I think the papers run about $8.00

I hope to have more stainless steel filters in by Friday at the latest. Maybe Thursday. If so, I'll let you know.

I re-ordered today and they were in stock. I wonder sometimes about why everything from some of these other guys always seem to be on back order when they are so easy to get elsewhere. They must be using a different distibutor????

I do know this....those who got in early and got a filter today saved about 25 bucks over the cost of the next batch coming in. Cannondale "itself" is no longer carrying them and K&P doesn't give volume discounts to the general dealers as they did with dealing with Cannondale as a mass volume buyer.

Knowsalot,

Thanks for getting the oil filter and the other stuff. Do you mean that the new filters are going to be around $50.00?

15 bucks?? That is way below dealer cost. Sounds like a great deal.

Hey,....no stepping felt.

Your dealer must have done as we did and ordered a slew of them last Fall before they were discontinued by Cannondale.

The new ones, which come straight from K&P retail for $69.95....I don't know for sure if that's the brand that some of the other guys are selling or not, but they are the most popular with all the hard core enduro riders.

I say to all Cannondale owners, that if you are thinking about upgrading to the steel cloth filters, grab them up now while there are still a few dealers around that have the ones at the cheap price. It's the same filter that now costs 69.95, but the cost was much cheaper when they were distibuted by Cannondale. Get 'em now.

It was in a plastic bag with a ziplock on one end. the label on the bag has cannondale logo, barcode and number 592-5001107 shop order 537134 on 08/31/00 so they have been there a while. 15.42 before my discount. I am sure they are out there. good luck with the hunt for them.

I do believe the new metal oil filter has better filtering capabilities than the older style metal oil filter, read the details on that on another forum! That would certainly be a good reason to get it instead of the older one, even though it's going to be alot more $$. Something to think about!!

I think I will go ahead and get the new one. Thanks anyway MNWildFan. Not sure if they filter better or not, I talked to RS performance and they said they filter to 60-65 microns "not sure" but when I talked to KNOWSALOT he said they are the same except the new one is a little thicker.

KNOWSALOT I will call you tomorrow "Thursday" to find out if there in.

Sorry to get off the topic, but my reburbished Dale will be in friday. When I get an exhaust and get remapped what remapping should I get (Speed or Moto) or can I do? I ride mostly dunes which requires high rpm, but will race a few mx races?? On another note I bought 19" holeshot front tires and am putting Raptor Dunlops on the rear w/ Doulglas Ultimate wheels. I have Ultimates for the front also w/ Shredders on them for the dunes. The Dunlops kick **** in the dunes and so do front Shredders!!

Go with the Moto or the Blaze. I don't know which is better, but from what I have read they are almost identical. For what you will be riding I would go with the Moto.
