Things I would change on the stock quad.
#1
This is not a complant, just a few ideas to make the quad alittle better.
1. Move the attachment point of the side plastic back. I hate doing the right side by the radiator.
2. Sealed tie-rods like my 400EX. When I grease them, the grease just comes right out.
3. Head lights that can be pointed down some more. My headlights shine to high, so tonight I'm taking the covers off adn moving them down.
4. Include the basic software for diagnosing and changing maps. For little things we still have to take it to the dealership. Some which are hours away, others that don't know how yet.
That about it. I'm sure other will want to change other items. We all know Bigger Motors, more power, etc, etc.
If you post keep things of a simple and inexpensive to change nature and maybe the ones in production will be changed.
Just my thoughts.

Add nerfs and a kill switch to the base models. I think this should be done to all quads as a safety feature.
Make the rear plastic and seat "one part" that you can just unlatch and pull off like on my old 300ex.
Do something about those "vent" looking things on the side plastics. They look good but man those will leave some bruises on the knees when you're leaning a lot in a corner.
Other than that, I have NO complaints about the Dale. There is definitely things I would change, as in a-arms, ZPS style shocks, wider axle, etc. but those are just because I'm a MX'er. The stockers are awesome for just riding around in trails and stuff like that.
Oh, and I agree w/ smitty about the sealed tie-rod ends. Could you take the ones off of a Honda and fit them on the Dales?

Get rid of the side plastic. It is a pain to take totally off. Plus with it off you see more of the frame and when it's polished it looks sweet. Tether and nerfs should be standard. And they have to do something with the tie rod ends.
Smitty, has a good point in including some software with the purchase. For all of the people that have to drive an hour it isn't easy. And for all those who like to do their own wrenching it would be nice to be able to run all the diagnostics on your own without having to pay someone. This is a high maintanence quad, but it can also get spendy when you have to go to the dealler to get your ecu updated. It would be nice if everyones dealer was like mine and doesn't charge me for any remappings, or any of that stuff.
Have to say though so far my 'c' has been bullet proof. And a good showing so far, have a race on Sunday and hopefully if the weather holds out it should be a nice day.

I'll add to the list:
California Green Sticker
How about you get to mix and match your plastic colors, if you special order your quad? Since the frames are the same on all models, I'm sure the plastic is interchangable. I'd love to have a mix of the red cannibal plastic with the grey side plastic of a speed.
A location to carry some basic tools.

Here are both my suggestions and some that I have received from other Cannondale owners. Some are repeats of some others in this topic.
[1]Sealed tie rods
[2]Loose the allen head, socket head, and star point hardware. Way too many different tools needed to perform basic tasks.
[3]Integrate the seat and rear fender assembly as one piece and can be removed with no tools.
[4]Different front plastic design. Narrow it up and make the side panels able to come off with it. [But keep it as a seperate piece.] Add a hood to make getting to the air filter a much easier chore.
That's pretty much the basics of what I would like to see changed. These changes would make servicing, inspection, and repair much easier than it is now. The rear fender integration and fuel tank modification would be the most accepted I think.

YoDaddy,
I don't think Nerfs and Kill switchs would make sense on the Cannibal and Speed. Some of the places I've ridden the Nerfs would get hung up on rocks and stuff. Kill switch, Only usefull in a race.
Just my thoughts.

Smitty - yeah the nerfs could get hung on stuff, but if they are on there, you can always take them off. Atleast so that the safety feature is there. Same w/ the kill switch, you know how many people I have seen go off the back of their quad in a wheely and have to run forever to catch it again. Although it is funny as hell to watch, it could be bad if something or someone was in the way. Like I said, atleast the option of having them and keeping them on is there, people could always take them off if they got in the way.

Point taken, Maybe I just ride to slow.LOL That could only change the Retail price by a little so it could probably be done. Not my company though.
Is there someway to submit this list to Cannondale, or ensure that Me. Montgomery or one of the other reads it?
