I have a '03 Cannibal, with the square silencer. As far as I know, there arn't any silencers available for this pipe yet. Will the old style header bolt up to my '03 model?

It's my understanding that they did not change the Head only the header, so if you have an older one it should fit fine. Make sure you replace the crush washers.

Thats great, because I got the winning bid on a old style header and silencer off of ebay. I got it for $25, plus $10 handling fee plus shipping. Don't know what shipping is yet.

Does that sound like a good deal? It is supposed to be new.

I am wanting to pipe and moto remap and don't want to wait forever for the new design.

Does anyone have an idea of what silencer would be the quietest, with a signifigant power gain?

Depends on your own personal preference/level of skill. I've seen completely stock Moto's out there doing real good. I've heard some guys just had the shocks re-valved to their riding style, and the pro's have alot of stuff changed on theirs. Exhaust, suspension, A-arms, etc. But, for the most part, I think it's personal preference. Unless your a pro rider, I think you'll be fine on a stock Moto.

Jeff,

I'm glad I'm not in your shoes. The final draw for people in my area, has been just the maintence to keep their R's going. Every weekend it's something different. Piston/rings, reeds, exhaust hangers, carb trouble, exhaust problems, etc. One guy finally made the switch this past weekend. He was replacing piston and rings faster than I was replacing fuel filters....and I can still ride mine on the weekends with my buddies, without having to wait for the new shippment of VP race fuel.

Now your's looks immaculate, I don't see you having too much trouble with that quad. That's just what I've observed.

Not to get off the subject, but Blackbird, have you figured out what's wrong with your charging system?

Haulin,

No I haven't done anything about the charging prob. I haven't had time to mess with it yet. I thought that it had blown a headlight, but I must have just got something wet, cause it worked the next day. I still need to get it to the dealer though.

Thanks for the replys. Your right I am not a pro rider but I do race money classes locally and hope to hit the nationals next year. Like you said on a R you have to do a lot of maintance. The main reason I am so impressed with the cannondale is I have spent so much $ on my R (like everyone else) but I still am running a stock swing arm and frame. I am just afraid that my frame is going to break and be out some big bucks, and I dont know about where you all live but here local guys are running Duncan and CT cylinders and a few are running full aftermarket bikes just like the pro's. Quad racing is def. a passion of mine but I dont have that kinda cash when I am forking out $100 every week on maintance items. So i am pretty much just wanting to get outta the money pit (i love my R and dont want to see it go but...)and have everything on it for me ready to roll. Does anyone have cannondale as a sponser. I called my local dealer about getting a moto and they said they have a partial and full sponsership programe. They send you to school to learn about them for track problems, and they do all the mapping and stuff for free. I thought this was very cool, there is more that they do but I wont know it all till friday. I was just curious if anybody else is doing this. The way I understand it...I think Cannondale is giving some money or something to the dealers to do this. Gotta love Cannondale for just being envolved in racing!!! I am not sure how it all works yet, like i said I will find out friday. Well thanks again for the replys.

Yamracer,

I hope you didn't take my comment the wrong way. I wasn't saying your not a good rider or anything like that. Or "you think your too good for a stock Moto" Nothing like that.

I think you took my comment the right way, I just wanted to be sure.

Good luck with your decision.
