Speed vs YZ426 vs CR450f quads???

Well, the jumps aren't everything. Corners is where you will gain the most ground on people. I was behind one guy that was jumping everything, and there were a few jumps that I didn't have the ***** to do, but I was much better than him in the corners (hard to believe, I know) and he was never able to pull away from me. After a few laps, I just passed him in a corner and by the time I got up to a jump that I wasn't doing, I had pulled to big of a lead on him for it to even matter.
Corners are what matter.
---- Ofcourse, if some is jumping a big double, and someone else cases the crap out of it, the guy jumping it will be able to pull away a bit... There's exceptions to everything ofcourse. ----

I have raced at redbud its hard to believe that someone who isnt taking the jumps could win over the guys who take all the jumps.Just in the tunnel jump you have the little double before it and then its wide open over the tunnel.I dont jump it but the guys who do will gain 30ft each lap.You are lucky to be able to race at redbud that is an awesome track!
Back to the question I believe that a stock 426 is very close to a dale close enough that rider is what matters 450 is faster and is probably an advantage especially if the 450 takes advantage of the higher gearing they can pull on top a cannondale cant outrun these guys this would come to play on any oval bigger than 1/4mi or some TT's.The starting problems are very evident in both these motors I cant count the number of times I have seen guys give up trying to start these things on the line and in the middle of the race.
If your question is would you be better off building the 450,426 or KTM?
Not me.Maybe if you are a pro and are truly able to use every last bit of horspower your quad has and have the money to do it remember the pro quads are not stock.Do I wish cannondale made a big bore higher torque motor?YES!Especially when I have to run against a 770raptor on a 1/2 mi oval.I just cant match the top speed a open class big bore can run.
I personaly got sick of working on a 15 year old quad and spending money all the time it is awesome to own a quad that was made for racing and is factory backed.I also look forward to buying a new improved quad every year or so this is what the dirt bikes have enjoyed for years.

It was something you had to see. Of course I didnt see him because he was ripping it up. I was in 3rd behind on of my friends and from what he say he didnt jump anything except the tabletops. The dirtbikes rutted the track up so bad you couldnt even take the downhill tabletop,( the one out of the corner) because it was so rutted. Setup a date, I was thinking of going to Ls at the end of August. To ride with Yo and peeps.

MX400EX2 - No, I'm not racing any of the TQRA's. I was planning on it but I changed my mind. I'm just gonna keep on practicing as much as possible every week and get ready for the Full Moon series. I'll be in the intermediate class and I need to get a little quicker if I want to finish near the top against those guys. I'm also racing the Lonestar State Championship series at Swan and I want to get a little faster for it too. Are you a regular at Badlands? If so, who are you?

Oh ok. So no cannondale... just had to settle with a powervalved R huh?... you must feel so upset . I'm gonna be at Badlands this Wednesday for practice, and I think Russ might have the track open on Friday too. If so, I'll hopefully be there both days. I might go there on the 10th just to watch. I went to watch one TQRA race at Weatherford and I had a blast just being the spectator, but I wanted to race SO BAD!!!! Unfortunately I didn't have those front brake lines so no racing for me. Now I have all my stuff set up and I'm still not going to race . But thats aight... I'm plotting my revenge on a certain rider in the Lonestar series .
You gonna be at badlands on Wednesday or Friday (if they're open)?
