I just installed my pipe today on my 2003 speed. Is it a must to remap when you pipe it, I don't want to do any engine damage.

You're going to be running in a leaner condition now with the HMF so it's wise to remap.

I have the HMF pipe on my cannibal. I got the moto map installed. With the pipe and not the map installed it missed a little. But after the map it really moves.

Get the moto map and hang on!!!!!!

I'm guessing you purchased the pipe from R&S ??? They should have given you a free re-map.

I bought it from atv addiction and he said it did not need to be remapped, Harry at Trinity said as long as it was a speed it did not need to be remapped, but I keep hearing different things.

I would just get the remap to be safe. Unless you wish to check the plug a couple of times to make sure it isn't running too lean.

From our experience, we have only seen one Cannibal that NEEDED the re-map when a pipe was added. It had a flat spot about half throttle in third and fourth gear. The re-map cleared it right up.

Of the ones that we have sold, most leave with pipes and remaps, but we have had a few that get the pipe later and don't get the re-map and have had no problems.

It's much like jetting. Even with identical models.....one may need it and one may not.

If you aren't having any problems, I wouldn't worry about it. If you want to take full benefit of the pipe though...then the re-map is the way to go. A pipe AND re-map turns the Cannondales into an entirely different animal.

Roost on!!!!!!
