I am starting to think that Cap'n Carl is a 12 year old with a good imagination. How does he come up with this junk? Is there any way we can have him kicked off the c-dale forum? He never has anything useful to say and anything he does say is just to cause an uproar.

Ok boys back to the question at hand.

theHulkamaniac,

Are all of your questions answered?

You have to forgive us the Captain likes to come on here and tell everyone how great he was. This forum and the Captian have history.

Captain,

If you can build a CRF quad for 10,000 I'd like to order one todaty.

Smitty

i know captain's secret, for $10,000 he is going to put a crf 450 motor on his suzuki 125 frame.
carl, if you had any sence you would know a good rider can win on almost any quad.
only people that make excuses try to build the best quad known to man to make up for their lack of skill. and please no more back door deals here. nothing against honda, but cannondale is making the best sport quad! i do not own a c-dale as of yet, but i will as soon as i sell my honda. i, along with most of the people here, for once can buy an american product and be proud that it is the best in the business peroid. so go build your back door quad, we will continue to surport the people that are making a difference in the atv industry. thanks to cannondale, quads will be the front runner in new advancemeants in technology. if everyone thought like you do, we would still be riding horses to work. loser!

Smitty, I cant wait to see those numbers Thursday. If it turns out like I think it will then I will be a very happy man. That is until I tell my wife that I am going to spend X amount of dollars on my quad. She already says that I love it more than I love her anyway.

Well, I'm not going to start bashing, but Captain Carl, would you think about things before you say them?

Why would you tell someone that a CRF would be better and that you could do it for less than 10K? That makes it sound like anyone could. If you have good connections, thats great for you but the average person couldn't build a full on MX ready CRF 450 quad for less than 15K let alone 10. The CRF's and YZF's that I"ve seen were well over 20K.

OK.......Very simple.
I didn't want to let the cat out of the bag because I didn't want any other locals getting the same setup, but it seems most are in their own little Cannondale world anyway.....so here it goes.

CRF450 engine...........................$3500
OEM 400EX chassis.......................$550
LSR A-arms, swingarm, & axle............$1700
Works Triple rate front shocks..........$400
Works UltraCross rear shock.............$600
OEM 400EX plastic, seat, and braces.....$400
Set of 4 Holeshot MX tires on ITP wheels$350
OEM 400EX front spindles & tierods......$250
LSR steering stem.......................$300
AC Nerfs and front bumper...............$225
TAG Handlebars, grips, and lever/perches$115
Sprockets, chain, and OEM wheel hubs....$185
Powroll aluminum airbox.................$140
OEM oil tank............................$125
OEM front hubs..........................$250
OEM fuel tank...........................$70
Custom built exhaust....................$????
CDI, and main wiring harness from CRF...$230
OEM brake disc hub with Moose disc......$180
Other minor misc, items....Give or take $500.00

Sooo......For a maximum price of $10,070, you can build your own CRF quad.

If someone already owns a 400EX, they can save a bundle with this setup!!

You can also make it cheaper with using different brands for some items.

And you all thought I was crazy?? LMAO!!

I think you guys just don't want it known it can be built cheaper than you guys let on. A CRF has way more power than the Cannondale engines and it is known fact throughout the dirtbike industry.

Captain is right. Buy a used 400ex, sell the complete motor on Ebay. Pick up some good used parts. Buy a new CRF motor. I saw many 400ex's going through the auction ring a few weeks ago for 2500 dollars. add a 3500 motor and you stil have 4 G's for the rest. It can be done!! I do know of 1 forum member that has a 100 percent new CRF for under 13k. Some shops drop those numbers when they want to sell some parts. Parts mark up is un believeable some times. I can't believe that i actually agree with the captain. I am not even drinking yet tonight.

CaptainCarl- I never type anything and just forget about it. From the first time your punk a$$ came on this board and started trash talking how fast you and your boys were I have been asking you to prove it.

I will meet you any where at any time to put you in your place.

Most of the people in the Cannondale forum that are from the South have seen me ride. No one has ever seen you ride. All you do is come on here and live in a fantasy world.

Lets face it, you are a NOBODY and will always be a NOBODY!!!!!
